I like having some ventilation, especially when sleeping in a tiny space but last night it was raining so hard that we didn’t leave a window open. It was even bouncing off the roof and coming in through the rooflight-ventilation-thingy.
I woke up to the smell of woodsmoke.
Our neighbour has a wood burning stove and is probably burning wet wood. I hear him chopping away. It does get very smoky.
My second thought, after identifying the smell, was that we must be getting some ventilation into the camper with all the windows closed. The roof light does seem to have that facility even when closed. I was a little relieved that we weren’t breathing carbon dioxide all night.
I like the smell of burning wood and smelling it reminded me that I would love to live in a little cottage with an open fire or wood stove.
