Wrapped yarn with fabric, real shells with a few pearls make this seashore picture quite unique.
The best thing about some yarns is the different textures and variation of colours. It is so sad to see those features disappear and change when knitted or crocheted. I found that wrapping them around the glass of the repurposed frame enables the textures and colours to really stand out.
Don’t you think the white fringed yarn looks like the foam at the edge of the sea? The sea is always moving and reflecting a different part of the sky, so the blue variegated yarn perfectly shows this off.
The dark wet sand at the edge of the water is brought out by the darker band in the fabric. Tiny shells and pearlised beads complete the sandy part of the seashore.
Can you hear the waves lapping at the shore?
