The Beach with Seashells
The Beach with Seashells
The inspiration for this picture came from the stripy fabric used as the background. It reminded me of a beach. There are usually bands of different shades of beige due to the different wetness of the sand as the tide goes out. Sometimes the sea also creates ripples. I found some sandy coloured yarn to represent the softer, dry sand.
The rick-rack, lace and netting represents the foam at the edge, where the water meets the land. The shells are real. I love tiny shells.
The stand-up frame is repurposed and I chose the beige surround to continue the subtle sandy feel. It measures 20 cm x 15 cm   (8″ x 6″) and is for sale form my Etsy Shop, Patricia Hope.
